On November 7, 2024, the One Kind World Foundation (OKWF), in collaboration with the Honorable Mayor Ruel “Balong” G. Molina and Vice Mayor Pinky Molina, conducted its latest outreach mission at Bolisong Elementary School in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur. Set amidst the verdant expanse of the Southern Philippines, Bolisong’s natural beauty is rivaled only by the tenacity of its people- a community resolute in their pursuit of education despite systemic and geographical challenges.
The day was more than an exercise in charity; it was a tangible commitment to partnership and enduring progress. In officially endorsing the Foundation, Mayor Molina underscored the significance of initiatives like these in bolstering the dreams of Bolisong’s children and uplifting its future.

The Quiet Struggle for Education
Life in Bolisong is a paradox: stunningly picturesque yet profoundly demanding. The terrain, while breathtaking, imposes daily hardship on its youth. Education here is not guaranteed but earned, step by step.
Take Lyca, a fourth-grade student whose reality epitomizes this struggle. Each day, she navigates a nearly four-hour round trip- descending precipitous mountain trails, fording rivers that swell treacherously in the rain, only to repeat the ascent after school. The physical toll is eclipsed only by her quiet resolve: Lyca aspires to become a teacher. Her story reflects the broader plight of children in Bolisong, where aspirations are often constrained by isolation and inaccessibility.
Teachers spoke candidly about students who falter under the weight of these circumstances. Heavy rains keep children away for days; distance renders regular attendance elusive. Yet, their resilience is unbroken-each child, like Lyca, carries a dream shaped by the conviction that education is the most reliable path toward liberation.

A Mission of Substance
Beyond a Single Day: A Commitment to Bolisong
One Kind World Foundation does not view Bolisong as a singular act of outreach but as a long-term commitment. This mission is the first step in an enduring partnership aimed at addressing systemic challenges that hinder the potential of communities like Bolisong.
Moving forward, OKWF will prioritize:
- Accessibility: Exploring viable transportation solutions to ease the burden of children like Lyca.
- Sustainability: Providing ongoing educational resources that empower teachers and students alike.
- Opportunity: Identifying programs that offer support beyond the classroom, ensuring meaningful and measurable change.
The goal is not simply to relieve hardship but to dismantle it.
An Invitation to Act
Lyca’s journey is emblematic of the untold stories of children in remote communities across the Philippines and the world- children for whom education is not just an opportunity but a Herculean pursuit.
These stories compel action. They demand partnerships, investments, and compassion that transcend borders. The One Kind World Foundation invites individuals, organizations, and advocates to join this movement- whether through donations, corporate partnerships, or hands-on volunteer work.
With your support, we can transform hardship into hope, isolation into access, and dreams into achievements.
